#15 RHP Bryse Wilson

Once considered the 2nd or 3rd best arm in the rotation at Rome, the young right hander took step after step in the right direction for team evaluators to see the type of value that would put him in the upper part of the Braves top 30. The 6’1 Wilson came from Durham NC and soon cemented himself in talks for the next wave of arms to hit the Double A level. He finished last season with an ERA of 2.50 and 139 K in 26 games. He held opposing hitters to a 139/37 K/BB ratio and tossed a complete game as well. He works primarily around a lively 93-94mph fastball that he controls well and his slider that many have hung with the “slurve” title. Last year, he began to tweak with a changeup that was particularly beneficial for him while facing lefties. Mechanically he is sound due to some changes he made in 2017. All in all, he looks to be a grinder with the ability control his FB and could be a factor for the bullpen at least by 2019. A comp I would give him would be Brandon Beachy: ALWAYS overlooked, ALWAYS outperforming his competition.

I'm a 4th generation Braves fan from the metro-Atlanta area. I live for the crack of the bat in spring and weep at the last out of the world series...ok that's a little much. Happily married. Professional musician. Georgia Boy. Christ follower. Oh, and I write about the Braves and stuff.
