Conference Strike Out Leader Brian Eichhorn Earns First Team All-Sun Belt Honors

A lot of Georgia Southern’s success this year can be credited to a fantastic offensive display but also to solid pitching spearheaded by Junior Brian Eichhorn. The Richmond Hill, Georgia native finished the 2018 campaign 4-3 with a 3.15 ERA across 88 2/3 innings only allowing 31 earned runs and striking out 106 batters. Eichhorn also had 9 quality starts through the 14 games he pitched for the Eagles.

This is Brian’s second selection for the Sun Belt Conference’s All-Tournament Team. The league has certainly taken notice in the talent that Eichhorn possesses. His best start this season came against Troy, who led the league in offense, on May 4th in Statesboro. Brian tossed a complete game shut out in which he only allowed 1 hit. The future is bright for Brian Eichhorn and I, for one, am excited to see what he can do next year.

Brian is scheduled to start for #5 seed Georgia Southern in their Sun Belt conference tournament opener against #4 seed South Alabama on Wednesday (5/23) at 10 am (EST)/9 am (CST). The game can be streamed on ESPN+ or the Georgia Southern Sports Network. The entire All-Sun Belt Team roster can be seen below with players from the state of Georgia highlighted.

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that
    “perfect balance” between user friendliness
and visual appearance. I must say you have done a superb job
with this. Additionally, the blog loads super fast for
    me on Chrome. Excellent Blog!
