That’s a wrap on the 2018 GHSA baseball season! After multiple delays and postponements, we have concluded the baseball playoff season, crowning our final two state champions, from class 7A and class 3A. It would take just two games to wrap up the 7A title while in class 3A, Westminister and Lovett played the deciding game three. Here’s a recap from the final three high school baseball games of the year in the state of Georgia:

AAAAAAA: Parkview vs. Mill Creek – Lilburn

Game 1: Parkview 3, Mill Creek 1

Game 2: Parkview 5, Mill Creek 2

After two days of waiting and two location changes, this series finally got underway at Parkview’s home turf. While they had home field advantage, it was a raucous crowd for both teams, separated by just 30 miles. In this series, Parkview showed why they were ranked the #1 team in the state and #7 team in the nation. It was a pair of competitive contests all the way and Mill Creek should hold their heads high after a very successful run in the state tournament.

AAA: Westminister vs. Lovett – Rome

Game 3: Lovett 2, Westminister 0

It was a classic pitcher’s duel in Rome, but Lovett would win the battle, holding Westminister’s offense to seven hits and zero runs. Westminister’s three errors would prove costly as they fall in game three of this exciting series.
